The other important cog in the trade in laboratory
animals is the airlines ferrying them from around the
world to the UK’s airports. They work hand in hand
with the businessmen behind the trade to the point
where they allow special holding rooms to be used
with their cooperation. Only a few airlines are
responsible for the vast majority of the actual
transporting through the air. They will not escape
our attention either.

The big player is Air France-KLM. Many of the
primates coming into the UK were seized in the
wild from Mauritius by the notorious Noveprim
and Bioculture firms from the sugar plantations
of the island paradise and deported to various
hellholes across Europe and America.

Air France dominate the marketin flying primates to
labs in Europe.

We think it is time this appalling collaboration in
suffering came to an end. As with removing the
airports from the equation, removing the airlines
will have wide scale disruption on the supply of
laboratory animals, especially primates, not just in
the UK but across Europe.

Due to the importance of Mauritius in this global trade
we are calling a global boycott of Mauritius until they withdraw all licenses for the exporting of primates
from any of the territories under its control.

We will also be actively campaigning against
the airlines involved in this trade.

Can we take on an island thousands of miles away –
you bet! Check to see if there is a Mauritian embass
y or high commission or tourist office in your area.
Is there a travel agent selling trips to the island
in your town? All are valid targets to put the
message across.

Brtish Airways set the standard stating "Section 2.3. - Restrictions in Acceptance
1.......". in general, primates and wild caught birds and any live animals that are for use in any laboratory or for
experimentation or exploitation, will not be accepted for carriage....." Well done British Airways. Click here to view the letter as a pdf.
