One man demo at
Heathrow.
Right under the nose of security!
You don’t
always have to depend on others to get active. Here’s how one enterprising
activist, finding himself with a bit of time on his hands, just got out there
and did his own one-man demo. As the saying goes: Just Do It!]
As an action against the horrific vivisection industry, I decided to take
a trip to Heathrow Airport and let the passengers know that not everyone using
the planes were as comfortable as they were. For in the cargo hold lay terrified,
lost and deeply scarred animals, many of which didn’t live to see the
whole of their journey through.
I started at Terminal 1 and waited for a mass arrival of passengers (and security
to make themselves scarce) before leafleting the oncoming hordes. I leafleted
enough people to be able to recognise faces the second time around, so I decided
it would be a good time to make a start at Terminal 2, but not before looking
back on my handy work and seeing peoples’ eyes engrossed in the truth
about the importation of live animals.
Once at Terminal 2 I again whipped out the leaflets of mass distraction and
started with the people in the waiting area, then moving towards the exit,
leafleting as I went. It seemed to be an inevitable reaction with some people
that when given a leaflet they were put into a trance of disbelief. It just
goes to show how much the airport authorities don’t like people knowing
the truth.
Before I knew it,
I’d already given out ALL of my leaflets and NOT been spotted by security.
So, with the element of surprise still on my side, I decided to let BAA employees
discover my demo in their own time, that’ll confuse ‘em (where
DID all these leaflets come from?!!) as I made a swift exit.
Today it was just one person with leaflets but just remember that every great
tree grew from a small seed. The Gate Way To Hell campaign is just beginning
– let’s make sure it goes all the way until there are NO MORE
animals being flown to their death inside these vile vivisection labs. So
get out there, get involved and get active for the animals, we are their only
hope. Let’s give them something to hope for – FREEDOM!
