DEMOS's AT PRIMATE SHIPPING AIRLINES IN IRELAND
On Friday 8th April activists from
England and Ireland joined together in Dublin to campaign against two airlines
that transport lab animals to their deaths. First stop was Air Japan, only
one worker was available to speak to us as managers were at a function. We
left some info and held a brief demo
before heading to our next target El Al.
We went to El Al agents Abacus Travel on Fleet Street in the city centre.
We went into their building and were greeted by a friendly receptionist, who
shared our concerns and would pass them onto El Al.
Everything was very amicable until the manager stormed in screaming at us to get out, well if he couldn't be pleasant then why should we! We informed the whole office why we were there, animals die horrific deaths of suffocation, dehydration, stress etc whilst in El Al's so-called 'care' and this isn't to mention their destination - labs. It's all about blood money. We will name and shame El Al and inform people who travel on their planes that they are sharing them with abused animals.
We set up a massive noisy and visual
demo outside the office. Hundreds of
leaflets were given out, and Dublin people were horrified to learn about El
Al and were really supportive!
We certainly made our presence felt and we left a clear message to these
companies STOP transporting lab animals now!!
