TRAVEL AGENT DEMOS IN HEREFORD
Gateway to Hell activists held two demos today 23.04.05 outside travel agents Thomas Cook and Going Places both in Hereford city center. First we went into Thomas Cook to have a word with the acting manager.
He didn't seem to be bothered at
all about animals that suffer in cargo holds who are on their way to animal
testing labs in the UK. We left some leaflets for him which he tried to pass
back to us but we insisted that he read them.
Time to wake this guy up from his comfortable mental slumber!
Thinking he had got rid of us, he was more than bothered when he found
activists lining the shop front minutes later educating the public about the
heartless profiteers that send animals to their deaths in vivisection labs
using the same airlines that holiday tourists use.
He burst out of the shop, red faced
and asked us what we were doing (pretty obvious to most!) and asked us what
we hoped to achieve. We told him that a mass boycott of Air France, Air Mauritius,
Air China, Japan Airlines and EL AL airlines is what we were trying to achieve
by
educating the horrified public to the evil trade in laboratory animals
used for vivisection that these airlines profit from as 'second cargo'.These
animals arrive at Dover, Manchester and Heathrow airports. exhausted prisoners
to be executed in the vivisection labs.
An activist in a gorrilla suit drew most attention at the demo which was great
because loads of families with children came to say 'hello' to the gorilla
and of course took leaflets at the same time.
Next stop was the travel agent Going Places. After talking to the
seemingly sympathetic manageress and leaving leaflets with her another
fine demo took place outside Going Places in the busy high street.
Passers-by who stopped to talk were outraged and disgusted by what they had
read and assured activists that they would boycott the airlines mentioned
that flew animals to their deaths in vivisection labs and that they would
pass the message around to their friends and families.
A police officer turned up who had
received a 'complaint' about
intimidation at the protest outside Going Places which we then later
discovered was an anonymous somebody who had made a complaint about the gorilla
suit being 'intimidating'!! Incredible! How pathetic!
The general public have not got a clue that on the same planes as their families
may be on coming back off holiday are also animals cramped into cargo holds
suffering these hellish journeys to end up at destinations like Huntingdon
Life Sciences, Oxford university, Sequani Limited, Covance labs etc .. only
to be tormented, tortured, butchered and incinerated by sick and evil people
at their journeys end under the 'legal' guise of 'scientific research'.
This is why these types of demonstration are so effective because once you
open peoples' eyes to something that they would never have dreamed is happening
around them, they are so shocked and also determined to do what they can to
help to stop this vile trade in innocent animal lives using their power as
consumers.
