MAURITIUS - THE SUGAR CONNECTION
While Air Mauritius may have seen
sense and decided to discontinue their involvement in animal abuse, the Mauritian
government see it as perfectly fair to let their live animal trade continue.
If they choose to put their
reputation at risk then so be it, their tourism is already suffering but if
they're going to continue dealing in animal torture then their sugar trade
will suffer as well.
I took it upon myself to bring the Mauritian government's trade in animal
life to light by going into a supermarket and stickering many packets of
Mauritian sugar, and there was plenty of it. Now people will see the sugar
from Mauritius to be bloodstained by the Mauritian government's involvement
in the primate trade and take their custom to more ethical sugar producers.
Many more actions against the Mauritian government's choice to deal in animal
abuse are on their way and they will be soon come to realise that animal torture
has its consequences and that those same consequences are serious if they
value their reputation.
It's up to them if they think that live animal exports are worth more money
than tourism AND their sugar trade combined. The pressure continues...
