THOMAS COOK DEMO IN WORCS

Thomas Cook in Worcester received a very loud four hour demo this afternoon.
Eight activists converged on TC in Worcester's High St and set up a stall
right outside Cook's window and crammed it with leaflets
and petitions whilst placards were leant against the shop. Five minutes into
the demo, two horrified TC customers were arguing with assistants inside the
travel agents demanding TC explain what the hell was going on re the Mauritius
connection whilst vowing never to book again with Thomas Cook!
Approximately 1,500 leaflets were handed out to the public and to customers
of TC, £40 was collected in donations towards the Gateway to Hell campaign.
and 135 signatures were put on petition sheets. The
petitions we had ran out fast so it was quickly off to the photocopiers for
another batch! TC locked their doors shortly into the demo and literally lost
at least 60% of their customers who tried the door, peered inside and walked
off.
The public were extremely receptive today mainly because of the stall where
they could interact by signing the petitions and chat at the same time. If
you're doing a Thomas Cook demo, get a stall together too! It works wonders!
Eight turned to sixteen for half an hour during the afternoon when an enraged
gang of youths came and joined the demo, sickened by what they saw on the
posters. They even went and bought small horns and came back to add to the
relentless barrage of informative shouting.
Cops stood at a distance with their undercover CID friend (who follows us
everywhere when in Worcester) once they had warned us about entering
or attempting to occupy the shop. This seems to be one big worry for them
as we occupy spontaneously, when the mood takes us.
When the demo was over an activist from out of town with her family were followed
back to their car by one of the cops at the demo who of course
was most interested in the reg plate for the state's AR database.
Over all, an absolutely excellent demo exposing Thomas Cook making big profits
out of flying unsuspecting passengers to the Island of Hell
'Mauritius' where Thomas Cook know primates are brutally kidnapped, sold and
flown off to European vivisection laboratories.
Rest assured, the name Thomas Cook will be associated with images of torn
apart monkeys, victims of animal torture labs, and they will be losing a hell
of a lot of customers because of their lack of compassion. Til the next time
