MAURITIUS DEMO IN WORCESTER AT THOMAS COOK
Fired up over Air China and Air
Mauritius stopping importing animals into the UK that are destined to be murdered
in the labs, our first noisy G2H demo was at Going Places in pump st Worcester.
By this time a
mouse had joined us as well as having the gorilla which the kids loved.
Banners displayed and leaflets at the ready, activists made one hell of a
noise for the animals informing the passing crowds that Air France and el-al
airlines still make their bloody profit from importing animals to the torture
labs in the UK.
Now is the time to pile on the pressure and to fight even harder until all
of these airlines quit lining their pockets by trading in sentient non-human
animal lives! Donations were given and much attention to the
campaign received. The gateways are closing!
Next off, Thomas Cook in the High st was very loudly named and shamed for
using and promoting these airlines to hell and for being the main agents in
promoting holidays to Mauritius. Come on thomas Cook, put pressure on the
Mauritian government to stop selling primates.
Tons of leaflets were given out and people were left educated about what lies
beneath the passenger decks on these popular airlines. Animals in cages, frightened,
isolated, cold and dehydrated within the cargoholds of tourist planes, animals
that are destined to be poisoned, burnt, maimed and butchered on operating
tables inside cold hell holes like HLS, Oxford uni, Sequani, Covance, Wickham
and many other animal murder labs across the UK.
The town crier ain't got nothing on us!
One lad came and told us that he thought animal testing was a neccessary evil
for the good of our health. After being told that 2.8 million non-human animals
had been tortured to death in British vivisection labs last year testing drugs
that go on to kill and maim over 14,000 men women and children in the UK annually
as well as killing 100,000 men,
women and children in the States annually, he totally changed his mind!
A few moments of truth and you can light people up like candles, burning away
the lies that the vile corporations have sold them. By this time plod was
in Thomas Cook ...
Off down the road to the next target Co-op travel for another burst of informative
noisemaking. More leaflets handed out, more discussions held. A restrained
cop kept an eye on proceedings whilst a Co-op travel
employee came and begged him to get rid of us. It was great to see her face
when he explained there was nothing he could do and we had every right to
express ourselves! Great demo, we were even joined by a group of sympathetic
buskers!
Another excellent day of action for the animals! We will be back ..
