Thomas Cook demo in Worcester
On a beautiful sunny Saturday afternoon
in Worcester, five activists set up the Gateway to Hell stall once again outside
Thomas Cook's window for the purposes of educating the public about Thomas
Cook's support of
animal cruelty on the island of Mauritius. The giant cuddly monkey was sat
on the stall amidst the piles of leaflets, which brought loads of attention.
Almost 100 signatures were taken on petitions and over a thousand leaflets
were handed out urging people to boycott Mauritius. The stall was buzzing
most of the afternoon and many concerned people stopped by to chat about the
Thomas Cook connection. A handful of customers actually went in to Thomas
Cook to air their disgust at them for
supporting the Mauritian tourist trade! Good on them!
Its up to Thomas Cook's head office to make the right move and put that pressure
on the Mauritian government to end the trade in primates on the
island. We aren't going anywhere until they do just that.
Always for the animals!!
