Gateway to Hell Belgium Day 2, 17/09/05

Today was the start of the Belgian
Thomas Cook campaign. A couple of weeks ago, we sent their Belgian CEO
Hans Swinnen a polite letter asking them to stop selling Mauritius holidays.
But as we didn't got the response we wanted, it was time for action.
Once again our Dutch comrades came to join us. We started in Antwerp.
At this TC outlet (Sint-Katelijnevest 68) we informed the general public about
TC's dirty business with Mauritius. The lady who runs this outlet told
us about her disgust over the Mauritius trade! Dear Madam, it is now
up to you to voice your disgust to your CEO Hans Swinnen. Thank you for your
compassion.
After Antwerp, we went to the headquarters of TC in Gent (Tramstraat 65).
TC had organised a recruitement day for new employees, so what better way
to make our point to the management and new employees then visiting them.
When we arrived, they quickly closed all entrances so that nobody could come
in or get out. Half of TC's management team, including their CEO, was
outside together with the future employees. We told all of them very
loud and very clear what we thought about their evil business! Dear
Hans, we passed the point of 2 way communication, now it's only one way communication
until you drop Mauritius.
When we left, there were 2 girls leaving with us. After they heared
about TC's disgusting trade, they left asking us for extra leaflets and told
us they wouldn't dream of working for such a firm! Good thinking girls!
Finally we went to the TC outlet in Gent (Vlaanderenstraat 4). The employees
were too ashamed to talk to us so they locked the doors. Very embarrassing
for your customers TC! First they had to pass peacefull protestors who educated
them , then they had to wait until somebody from TC let them in and after
that they had to let them out again to be confronted by the shameful truth
about your business with Mauritius. We don't think that this is very
good PR! Many people just didn't have the stamina for this and just walked
away. Loss of income, TC, is this what you want? Is Mauritius
so important for you to lose business over?
So, why not do the sensible thing TC and send your customers to other places
then that hell hole Mauritius. From the moment you take this positive
decision, we will leave you alone! Otherwise you're gonna see much more
of us in future!
