Thomas Cook demo in Croydon

Protestors held a great demo outside Thomas Cook in Croydon on Sat 29th Oct.
Protestors holding a large banner and posters, informed the public about the horrors of the primate trade out of Mauritius. There was a general feeling of horror and interest form the public who took postcards and leaflets.

Lots of attention was generated despite the Thomas Cook staff, who were clearly upset, harrassing the public and even snatching leaflets from passers by. There were a number of confrontations and a large crowd gathered especially once the police arrived. They threatened the
protestors with arrest for displaying the dead monkey (they had allegedly had a complaint!) saying the demo could proceed as long as those images were removed.

They then left the demonstrators but not before warning the Thomas Cook staff about thier behaviour. There was a minor altercation between the protestors and the manager who had obviously been caught on the hop as he had not told any of his staff about the campaign.
