5 Thomas Cooks demoed in 1 day in Holland

Friday we had 5 Thomas Cook demos in one day in Rotterdam, The Netherlands! On the Saturday we had a spontaneous action in Schiedam nearby Rotterdam.
After meeting up at the meeting point we went to the first Thomas Cook agency in the Ambachtstraat. It's situated in a small shopping street and we were very visible there
with our posters and we leafletted the shoppers passing by. The reactions were positive in our favour.

One thing that catched the eye though, was that there was more police officers present than activists... it was clear that they were fearing that we would get attacked by furious Thomas Cook employees ;)

After Having leafletted for about half an hour we went to the next agency in the shopping mall Hesseplaats. Again we stood right in front of the agency informing shoppers
passing by.

After another half an hour we went to the shopping mall Alexandrium. It was really busy there so we decided to split our small group in two in order to be able to inform
more people. We reached a lot of people who were glad to be informed about the reasons for boycotting Thomas Cook and Mauritius.

Now it was time to go to the inner city of Rotterdam, and again we split into two groups, one in front of the Thomas Cook agency in Hoogstraat and one on the Beursplein.
On the Beursplein there was a woman who decided not to book her holiday at Thomas Cook and she even helped us leafletting for a while! It's definitely worth it to have
these kinds of demos!

On the Saturday we decided to go demo at Thomas Cook again, but this time spontaneously so the demo wasn't reported to the police. It was very clear to us that the TC
employees not at all had expected to see us again that soon, and it was very easy to see that they became very displeased about our presence. After approximately 20
minutes the police arrived and asked us to leave in a friendly tone, so the demo ended there.

A really succesful weekend in Rotterdam. We made it clear to Thomas Cook that we will not accept that innocent animals are tortured and killed, and that we find that
Thomas Cook is taking part in this! Thomas Cook we will go on until those farms are closed, or until you make the ethical choice to stiop booking travels to Mauritius.

Thomas Cook in Uithoorn
A number of activists protested at the Thomas Cook agency in Uithoorn. We began with leafletting in the shopping mall and got a lot of positive reactions from the shopping public, even though the TC employees really didn't know how to act.

After this succesful demo we went to the second agency. Again a lot of positive reactions and people who decided not to visit Thomas Cook because they saw what sticks to
a company like TC - animal abuse. We will leaflet at Thomas Cook again all over the Netherlands.
