Thomas Cook demos in Canada
Demo 1
We hopped on vans and cars and head to Marlin Travel/Thomas Cook in north
Montreal. While 2 activists stayed outside facing this really busy boulevard,
holding a big banner that say “ THOMAS COOK = MEURTRES DE SINGES”
(Thomas Cook = Monkeys death) the rest of us went inside with posters and
megaphones to confront the people who profits from animal cruelty. This place
was visited often by activists so when we got inside the only employee there
was in total shock. He couldn’t move or talk, he just looked and listened
at us. We gave him a leaflet about the relation of Thomas Cook with the Mauritius
island monkey trade. The choice is in your hands Thomas Cook. We left before
our friend the police arrived.
One thing you can be sure about us Thomas Cook; we will never give up, you
will never know when and where we will come back to show you up for your support
of the Mauritian monkey trade.
Demo 2
After an hour of driving we arrive at a really big Thomas Cook office in Laval,
a suburb. Because they were alerted by the other Thomas cook they had locked
all their doors before we could go in. That didn’t stop us from shouting,
holding our posters and giant banner, using our hair horn, giving leaflets
and telling everyone with the help of our loud megaphones in this huge shopping
center the relation between Thomas Cook and the monkey trade.
A lot of shoppers took our leaflets and promised to boycott
them. The workers where horrified when they realized we had french leaflet
specially made for their store since the majority of their costumer are French
speaking.
After a couple of minutes the police came but could not do any thing to stop
us. They didn't even bother getting out of the car.
Demo 3…
We drove one hour north to visit another Thomas Cook office but when we got
there to our surprise they had close the shop 1 hour and a half earlier than
usually….glad to know they are losing possible sales because of us.
