Thomas Cook demos in Amsterdam

13/5 On a busy saturday afternoon in Amsterdam activists informed the public about the trade in monkeys from Mauritius for vivisection. We handled out hundreds of leaflets in front of a Thomas Cook travel agency, as the Thomas Cook Concern are the ones selling the most holidays to Mauritius. As we ask people to boycott
holida yisland Mauritius and their "touristsupplier" Thomas Cook.

With a banner, posters, leaflets and megaphone we informed thousands. A really fantastic contribution was made by one of our activists, who brought a cage with two "moving primates on batteries" inside. It showed the public the victims face to face.

For the 2 hours we stood there, the shop closed for an hour while the employee was still sitting inside! And defenitely not on a lunchbreak. When she finally opened the shop again, no-one entered the shop. It's quite obvious our presence is the reason. When we packed up our stuff to go to next Thomas Cook shop, a couple wanted
to get in. As we were still around we started talking to these people explaining about the monkey trade and the unwillingness of Thomas Cook to act. As the man was already standing with one footh in the shop, the couple decided to book their holiday somewhere else. We gave them a huge applause which gave us a boost as well.

When we moved on to the next one we passed by another trave lshop in the same street as Thomas Cook, which was loaded with people. Time after time we're
wondering how Thomas Cook can keep on booking to Mauritius, while it's clear we're impacting your whole business! Thomas Cook, with such bad year results you cannot use such bad PR.

Our second Thomas Cook is situated on a busy street corner in the heart of Amsterdam. People recognized us from earlier protests and supported us. With the megaphone we informed the public and again, no surprise here, no-one booked Thomas Cook. Three hours of protests and no-one even went into your trave lshop on a busy saturday afternoon, Thomas Cook. Is that bad business or what?

We're standing firm for the monkeys captured by the thousands in Mauritius. We'll win this campaign and stop the monkey export for horror experiments. We'll keep on educating the public about vivisection and Mauritius.
For the animals, always!
