Thomas Cook demo in Nottingham

Protesters paid another visit to Thomas Cook in Nottingham. With placards and leaflets we set about informing the public about the primate trade in Mauritius. We made them aware of the terrible fate that awaits these terrified animals in British labs. As always, we got a lot of support from people who find animal experiments cruel, worthless and abhorrent. Thomas Cook staff has taken to coming out of the shop to actively try and persuade people looking in their window to book holidays to Mauritius. They must be getting desperate.

Some people we spoke to were going to book a holiday to Mauritius but decided to book elsewhere on learning of the suffering of these sensitive, intelligent animals. Thomas Cook is well aware of the primate trade and will have an enormous influence on the Mauritian government which relies so heavily on tourism for its economy. We will continue to protest outside Thomas Cook for as long as they keep booking holidays to Mauritius
