Thomas Cook demos
in 1 day in Rotterdam
Saturday was another day of action in Rotterdam, against
Thomas Cook, and for the closure of the primate farms in Mauritius. We
visited 5 of their travel shops in one day!
The first travel shop resided in Rotterdam Overschie. We handed out leaflets
about Thomas Cook and their connection to Mauritius, and we informed the
public with the help of our megaphone about what happened to the primates
which were imported from Mauritius.
The second shop was on the Bergweg, a street which had a lot of traffic,
so that means a lot of people who could see what kind of company Thomas
Cook is.
The third one was in a rich and fancy neighbourhood in Rotterdam North.
So that means there are a lot of people with a lot of money to spend,
however they won't be spending their money on Thomas Cook anymore. A lot
of the people who passed were shocked to hear about the
primate trade, and they told us they supported our action.
A shopkeeper next to the Thomas Cook asked for a few leaflets and told
us she fully supported our action.
These three travelshops have gotten their first visit from us, but we're
sure it won't be the last they hear from us!
After those 3, it was time to hit two of our favorite travelshops. We
favor them because of the fact that they are situated in a busy part of
town, so that means that there are a lot of people to inform about Thomas
Cook and the primate trade!
And that also means that there were a lot of people who decided not to
visit Thomas Cook after hearing about what happens to the primates which
are imported from Mauritius.
As our hearts and minds were with the Mauritius primates. We asked ourselves
how long it'll take until Thomas Cook makes the right decision. All they
have to do is boycott Mauritius, how hard could that be? Untill that day
has come, we'll see you next time, Thomas Cook!" |
