Leeds demo against the primate trade

Demos were held in Leeds to remember Jill Phipps, an activist who was killed fighting for the rights of animals.

First was Thompson Holidays where the public were asked to boycott Manchester Airport for being involved in flying animals to their deaths in labs. Leafets were given out to passers by and placards held outside the travel agent.
Next stop was Seasons Boutique who are currently stocking real fur. Attention was drawn to the cruelty they support as the public were informed via the megaphone about the skinning, gassing and electrocuting of animals for the fashion industry. Support was received from those passing, who vowed to not shop in Seasons until a no-fur policy is issued.

Last but not least was Thomas Cook on Briggate. A banner and placards were held outside naming and shaming Manchester Airport for continuing to be involved in live exports and imports for vivisection. The passing public were very supportive and many took leaflets, whilst others stopped to talk and were disgusted at MA.
