Demo at the Nepalese Consulate in Amsterdam

On Friday the 5th of September Gateway to Hell activists returned to the Nepalese Consulate in Amsterdam to demand the release of the monkeys in the breeding centres and the closure of the American funded research centres. Having started the day at the BPRC, Europe's largest primate research facility in Rijswijk where 1300 innocent monkeys are subjected to sordid experiments, we were determined to let the Nepalese government know that Operation Knockout means business.

Clearly the Nepalese are so ashamed of their dealings that they even removed their flag to try to hide the fact that they were the reason for our protest. However, with the hundreds of leaflets that were distributed and the number of passers-by who listened intently as activists explained how the previous Nepalese government had shamefully imprisonned sacred monkeys to send them to American research centres for profit there could be no hiding their shame.

As always the demo received an excellent response with many people vowing not to visit Nepal until the monkeys are safe from vivisection and others vowing to support the campaign. Nepal's economy relies heavily on European tourists so our noisy and visual demos cannot be good for their reputation, in fact we wonder whether the sharp decline in visitors from Europe might be related to the campaign?

We will not fail the monkeys, the Gateway To Hell campaign against Nepal will continue until all Nepalese monkeys are saved from vivisection!
