Embassy of Nepal demo in Geneva, Switzerland

Tuesday, 17th June 2008, the first action of the Stop Monkey Business Supporter Group in Geneva, Switzerland took place. More than 20 people concerned about the future of these monkeys paid a visit to the Nepalese Embassy and Permanent Mission to the United Nations, rue de la Servette 81, Geneva. A demonstration was held in the street under the office's windows as six of us were meeting the Ambassador.
We explained the situation and he found it hard to believe us, as he truly believes that Nepal is a country that protect its animals. He agreed to send an official letter to the Ministry of Forests and Soil Conservation in Kathmandu, Nepal. All the other people in the offices ageed with us and found the idea of sending sacred monkeys to torture horrific. A secretary told us that naturally she fully agreed with us just as anyone with any sensitivity would.

They will have more news from us soon as this is just the beginning of the campaign in Switzerland!

A special thank you to all persons active in Nepal. Stop Monkey Business Supporter Group in Geneva, Switzerland. animal.lib.geneve@gmail.com
