Start of Belgian protests against Nepal

Brussels, 20th March

Activists from Coalition Against Vivisection protested outside the Nepalese Embassy in Brussels to campaign against the involvement of the Nepalese government in the breeding of rhesus monkeys for biomedical research in America. This protest was the first in Belgium in support of the global Gateway to Hell campaign.
We gathered outside the embassy at 10 am, with a banner showing suffering lab monkeys, posters and megaphones. For nearly 2 hours we shouted our disguist.
Nepal should be ashamed of providing monkeys for biomedical research. We demand that the Nepalese government stops investing in the export of monkeys for experimentation.
Our first Brussels demonstration is part of a growing global campaign pressurizing the Nepalese government to ban the export of rhesus monkeys for commercial or scientific use. Earlier this month campaigners protested at the Nepalese Consulate in Amsterdam, Holland and London, UK. Later this month, demonstrations will be held in France and other countries.
