MONKEYFARM IN NEPAL EXPOSED. The truth about Nepal's monkey. The Nepalese government has repeatedly lied about their monkey farming policy, they have told the campaign on numerous occasions that the monkey farms don't exist, that any monkey farms are illegal and that Nepal doesn't have a policy of breeding monkeys for export to American vivisection laboratories. We have released these pictures (on the right) of the monkey farms which the Nepalese government say don't exist, and soon we will also release footage as well. The Nepalese government has also claimed that it would be illegal to export monkeys under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, (CITES). Therefore we invite you to read the campaign report on CITES, to decide for yourselves whether rhesus monkeys can be legally exported in accordance with the CITES legislation to which Nepal is a signatory, (rhesus macaques are listed in Appendix II of CITES): Most importantly, the Nepalese government has stated on numerous occasions that Nepal does not have any policy regarding the breeding of monkeys for the vivisection industry! The campaign invites you to read the law that the Nepalese government doesn't want you to see, the "Working Policy on Wild Animal Breeding, Farming and Research, 2003": We ask you to pay particular attention to Article D, Section 3: Article D, Section 3:- 3) Siblings obtained from ex-situ conservation through captive breeding after F1 generation can be permitted for export only for scientific research and study. The Ministry of Forests and Soil Conservation shall issue export permits for protected species while the Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation will issue permits for other species as listed in Appendix 1. Before issuing such permission, it is essential to submit import permit obtained from the competent authority of importing country as per the international law. The ministry may impose terms and conditions if deemed necessary. Clearly the Nepalese government are disgusting liars and if they thought this campaign was just going to disappear because they told a few lies then they're even more deluded than if they thought that we were just going to accept their word that the monkey farms don't exist! Now is the time to confront the Nepalese government with the facts, and now is the time that they either admit their participation in the sordid monkey trade or they take action to stop the exploitation of their sacred wildlife!!! |
